No time to dress... no time to impress

It's been one heck of a month. The Busy Girls Guide has been going from strength to strength and I seem to have developed a real capacity for multi-tasking.

I am now capable of putting the washing on, filling and setting off the dishwasher, hoovering the downstairs, feeding the dogs, making tea and breakfast and replying to my most pressing emails - all before 9am.

I'm not, however, capable of getting dressed during this time. Something's got to give...

As if he was aware of the intensity of my household duties, Himself seemed to be helping me out. I was upstairs drying my hair this morning and I heard the hoover going on downstairs.

"Wow!" I thought, "He's actually doing some cleaning for me, bless him!"

I stood for a while, listening to the soothing sounds of someone else cleaning up. I even chastised myself slightly for feeling so annoyed that he never did anything - how he was proving me wrong.

I crept downstairs, cheerfully practising my "Wow! Thank you darling!" expression.

As I turned the corner, my "cheerful, grateful' smile, immediately dropped into a "how bl**dy typical" frown...

There he was, sat in the middle of the room, lovingly hoovering his computer.

Techno phobe - do girls get gadgets?

Morning Busy Girls - I'm back. I hate to say it, but a cold got the better of me. I know that sounds feeble, but it was one hell of a cold, it really took me out - I have a pleasant cough left now - winter is definitely here!

So, while I stocked up on echniacea and cough medicine this weekend, Himself was out purchasing another new piece of technology - a 50" Plasma TV.

I am now sat in front of Lorraine Kelly's 2ft wide head, in our relatively small lounge. I practically have to turn my head left and right to read anything that comes on screen and when he plays Play Station, it's like we're actually in the battle scene, being shot at!

The surround sound is so realistic, I thought I had a cricket on my shoulder last night when watching The Blue Planet.

Don't get me wrong; it's a beauty, it's shiny, stylish and very sexy (for a TV) but I'm not THAT exctied about it, not as excited as Himself anyway. I also have my gadgets; my lovely camera, my Blackberry and my laptop, but they're all still pretty functional - they do the job.

Himself, however, is in love with the Play Station, workships the 50" Plasma and lovingly puts his laptop to bed in a special cover every night.

Maybe if I could play computer games, or show DVDs with surround sound, I'd get worshipped too...

Now, that's a thought....

PlayStation widow...

To be fair, I've done well to get away with it for this long. Boasting to my friends "oh yes, he's a star... he doesn't like football and he doesn't even have a Playstation - the perfect man, huh?".

I knew it would come back to bite me - today he went out to get a new magazine and came home proudly brandishing a PlayStation 3.

Yes, I know the graphics are cool, I'm aware the joystick (or whatever it is) is wireless and, yes darling, it HAS got better music than old computer games... but honestly, after 1/2hr the erractic screaming of racing cars buzzing around the mud-pit track is beginning to seriously grate.

Am nursing a hangover from too much champagne last night (nice, but painful now) and have had to take Paracetamol and Ibuprofen again for pounding head.

Am bored.

Am now officially a PlayStation Widow.
